The first stage of process is make the white yarn from farm cotton by spinning then this white yarn goes for dying. All the dying is done by hand. The dyes are measured by eye and then added to a vat of boiling water, with the addition of setting agents. The yarn is then plunged in and out of the bubbling hot dye until the correct color is achieved. Then dip through with water and hung to dry in the bright sun.
After the dying and drying yarns comes on plying unit where two ladies Kesar and Puni open the yarns into single thread on Charkha (spinning wheel) then collect this yarn into a ball.
Warping is one of the most important steps of the whole process. The warp is made ready for weaving and precision is key in order to make the perfect rug.
Weaving is very beautiful part of rug making process in this process 3-4 weavers weave the rugs from the colorful yarns that we prepared in second process. This is amazing art of local artisans they have only paper of design and they weave the rug as it is.
One rug take 30 to 35 days to have its shape. In this time period rugs get dusty in Rajasthan countryside villages. So now this rug goes to washing unit where our local boys wash it by long brushes.
Now rug is on last step Finishing where local women bind the fringes, cut the piles, add the tassels and pom- poms.
